Why I Kick The Fence!!

A strange title i know but the reason I called it this is because there is a little run or walk I do from the railway at Wickham to the end of the Railway at Knowle. I never stop short of the fence and turn around but Kick it. If I don't reach it i haven't done the full distance - it's almost as if i haven't made it to the finish line. I feel this gives me a or is because of my mindset. If you are doing a twenty mile race or trainig session then stopping at 19 isn't enough. This week I HAVE MANAGED 2 X 20 MILE RUNS, 1 X5 MILE RUNAND A RUN TO WORK THEN BACK IN THE EVENING TOTALLING 53 MILES IN TOTAL. i MUST BE NEARLY READY NOW.

Goodbye. :-(

Think I am the only person that posts on here!

Unfortunately have had to pull out of the challenge - I got rid of the crutches yesterday but will still be unable to train for another month. I am absolutely gutted but there is nothing I can do.

Unfortuntely I also could not really sell any tickets to the charity night - I knew it would be tough as I had the same problems with my own party night. I wish the rest of the team all the best. If I can sell any tickets I will. I have the raffle prizes for you as promised which I hope will raise you a few extra pennies.

Good luck guys and goodbye... x

Slight problem.....!

Oh dear... Thought my painfull foot was down to poor fitting trainers....

It had come out in a nasty looking bruise and was really painful so took the day off work and plodded down to the drop in centre. Got sent straight down the hospital who said they are 99% sure I have a stress fracture. Consequently I am on crutches and unable to drive and walk for 6 weeks!!

I would still love to do the Gurkha Challenge but when I can walk again I can only build up again gradualy so I am currently looking for a reserve, as I am really not sure if I will be ready. Having an x-ray on Monay so should have more info. I will keep you all updated.

I am sooooo gutted. :-)

Hot, Hurting and Hills!!

Went training with Mark today, first day I have been able to walk distance since last run. Made me run (well kind of crawl) up a massive hill 5 times!!! It was very hot today and it hurt!!.... but glad I did it.

Was unable to get injection last week as couldn't get time off work. Foot in bits again but plodding on and looking forward to training again.

See you all soon....

Hi

I have been unable to train since my last run with Mark! I don't know what on earth I have done but spent the following two days unable to walk. Muscles and legs were fine but my foot was and still is in bits. Really painful on my arch, think it may be the trainers but because I couldn't walk I couldn't take them back because I wouldn't be able to try them out.

Will aim to get there next week when I can run better and get them re-fitted. Am also having the injection for bursitis in my hip tomarrow so will talk to the doctor about my foot also.

Not happy as really wanted to get some decent training in this week...... See you guys soon.

Finally got round to signing up a new account after rebooting the laptop due to it crashing! My weeks training was 2 x 48 min mountain sessions at work followed by leg streeches. Did a 6 mile run in just under an hour. followed by next day breaking my 3 mile time getting it down to 25 mins :) had a days rest working in the garden moving soil and smashing slabs, then finished the week of walking the golf course as i played rubbish. Going to twickenham tomorrow to see the army v navy rugger match so will try and be ok for run on sunday might not be fit to drive thou :(

Terraining With Paula

Hello Paula & John ( hopefully- At Some point) The DJ is Booked for 27th June!!

Training today with Paula was tough but an essential part of the learning process ie "learning how to suffer." Although shorter than last weeks 17miles it was the 1st checkpoint at Harting Down & up that monster of a Hill the other side. Paula- You have also seen where you may need to wear something for your shoulders, the issues with blisters & where you need to moisturise to help with the chafing! I am 75% certain we have Paul Coates and Ryan Matthews on board now so I will try to send them both a link to start reading this board. If you read this soon Ryan/Paul then welcome aboard. Training this week so far for me since I went out with Paula last week is as follows: Last thurs23rd- About 12 miles cycling 24th-26th Relaxation and cleaning windows.
Mon 27th- Circuit at work. 28th Circuit at work. 29th- circuit at work. 30th- 12.5 mile very hilly run with Paula. My intention is to have an easy day with the kids tomorrow and saturday and do another fairly tough sesion on sunday so if anyone is interested phone or txt on 07939043128. John should have both the posters and tickets sorted by now so i'll let you know when i have them.
